How to Use the Ligue 1 Stats Table
How can you use it to get the most value out of your bets? That’s where I come in, follow these steps to get the best use of these stats:
Step 1: Have a look at them stats!
Have a look through the different markets offered and try to find any standout statistics which could fuel your bets.
Navigate through the table by switching between tabs, and scrolling through the dropdown menus to select specific stats.
Step 2: Compare and contrast
At this stage you’ve probably become familiar with the statistics available, some stats complement each other perfectly, and could give you some great value.
For example, you may notice that two team’s goalkeepers have not kept a clean sheet yet, so you could compare the stats with ‘both teams to score’ to see if it will be a smart bet.
Still searching for more stats? Our football stats centre has all that you need!
Step 3: Place your bets
A betting strategy could help you choose the best time and way to place a bet – such as going for an in-play bet rather than a pre-match one.
Moreover, you should look for the right place to bet. If you’re not sure where to go, these are the best betting sites for Ligue 1 we like to use here at ThePuntersPage.
Ligue 1 Standings
Our Ligue 1 standings are brilliant and are well worth a look before you place any bets.
The best part? There’s a built-in form guide which shows you the results of each team’s last five matches. Betting based on form could be a good strategy to go with.
Prefer finding a site which gives you Ligue 1 predictions? Kickform.com is a statistic based online predictor with some interesting results.
The stats table is a comprehensive as it gets, and our Ligue 1 fixtures are no exception. It’s a detailed list of all the French League matches by round, with an amazing addition:

French Ligue Player Stats
Who doesn’t love player stats? They’re one of the best tools for your betting workshop. Our Ligue 1 player stats are some of the best you’re going to find, and I highly suggest giving them a look.
Player stats can most effectively be used when making bet builders, adding well researched legs will give a better chance of more positive results.
For example, you may have noticed that Mbappe is scoring lots of goals, so adding him as a goal scorer cold be a good leg. The departure of Lionel Messi and Neymar means betting on a PSG assist could beat bit trickier, however.
Ligue 1 Betting – Key Stats
Marseille have enjoyed the most seasons in the top-flight (71) and is the only French team to ever win the Champions League, back in 1992-93.In the 2015/16, Paris Saint-Germain broke the single-season points record with 96.Mickael Landreau holds the record for most Ligue 1 appearances (618). Alain Giresse’s 586 appearances is the most by an outfield player.Former Marseille player Josip Skoblar holds the record for most goals scored in a single Ligue 1 season (44).Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti is the most decorated player in the history of Ligue 1, winning the title on nine occasions.Kylian Mbappé holds the record for winning Ligue 1 Player of the Year award, claiming the prize on four occasions.Mbappé has led the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts for a record five times over the course of his career and has currently won four in a row.
Players to Look Out for in Ligue 1 2022/23 Season
Kylian Mbappé – Yes, he’s still here, the heir to the Messi & Ronaldo throne has remained ‘loyal’ to PSG until he runs down his contract at the end of the season. He’s already tearing up the league as top scorer.Takumi Minamino – Leaving Liverpool behind might have been the best thing for his career – he’s absolutely flying in Ligue 1. 6 goals contributions in 7 games have been enough to put Monaco on top of the table.Romain Del Castillo – Brest are just one point off top spot, and much of this is thanks to Del Castillo, 3 goals, 2 assists, and 3 team of the weeks all from midfield is spectacular.Jonathan David – David was the outstanding star of Lille’s 2020/21 title win, scoring 15 goals in the last campaign and still scratching the surface of his potential. The Canada international could be ready to break the 20-goal barrier this season.

Goalkeeper Stats
Goalkeepers are the lifeblood of any football team and can often make the difference in a match. Ligue 1 has the second lowest average goals per 90 across the traditional top 5 leagues with 2.78.
Goalkeeper stats could offer a lot of value in a defensive league. For example, betting on clean sheets could be an excellent choice in Ligue 1.

History of the French Ligue 1
The French Ligue 1, sometimes called Le Championnat, was inaugurated in September 1932 under the name National. After the first season the name of the league changed to Division 1.
The Division 1 was rebranded in 2002 to its current name, Ligue 1.Back in 1932 it started with 20 teams and continues to includethe same number to this day. You’ll find teams such as Marseille, Rennes, Montpellier, Nice, Metz, and Nimes, who were part of the founding clubs are still participating in the current season.
A total of 73 clubs have participated in the Ligue 1 from its foundation to today. Paris Saint-Germain is the only club not to have suffered points relegation as they were administratively relegated in 1972, but returned to the Ligue 1 in 1974, where they’ve remained since.
Following heavy investment by the Qatari State, PSG have enjoyed a stranglehold over the division in the 2010s. Their superstar-laden squads have often been comfortably superior to their counterparts, with PSG having claimed seven of the last nine Ligue 1 titles.
PSG’s current supremacy resembles Lyon’s dynastical period at the turn of the millennium. Although they won seven titles on the bounce between 2002 and 2008, they have failed to claim domestic glory since.
