Who doesn’t love a stats table right? But what’s the point in looking at stats without trying to use them for your benefit? That’s where we come in, to help you make the most of your stats. Here’s how:

Step 1: Get stuck in!

Bundesliga Goalkeeper Stats

Shot stoppers are the backbone of every defence – and a good defence is crucial for a team to remain competitive. There are loads of Goalkeeper stats which could be great for betting. We suggest looking at saves and clean sheets – these stats could help you when placing bets on anything to do with goalscoring.

For example, Manuel Riemann made the most saves from any keeper last season for VfL Bochum this generally means that the team isn’t great at defending – so you may want to look at bets to do with the opposition scoring in fact he only kept six clean sheets.

The possibilities are endless and looking through various Bundesliga stats could prove to be especially useful.

Our German league table is one of the most comprehensive you’ll find, with over 30 available stats options to choose from. Many are perfect to use if your making outright match bets. Over / under stats, both teams to score and corners are a few of our top choices.

This season is shaping up to be a particularly competitive one, and although it’s early days Bayer 04 Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart are looking like worthy opponents to Bayern Munich.

The first Bundesliga match was played in August 1963, with the league back then consisting of 16 teams.

In 1965, the league expanded to 18 teams and was broadcast on live TV and has remained so since then. There was, however, a one-off season in 1991/92 when the league was contested between 20 teams.

Since the first season, Bayern Munich have won the title an impressive 31 times, leaving Borussia Dortmund and Borussia M’gladbach in second place with just 5 titles to their name. Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV, Stuttgart, Cologne, and FC Kaiserslautern have all won the title more than once.

Here is a list of the recent Bundesliga title winners and those who got close:
